I wanted to show off what we just got finished doing to the kitchen cabinets.

The previous owners (PO’s) really didn’t do anything to update any part of the house, besides some really ugly paint colors.

The kitchen was really just plain old white, but the white was more yellow since the PO’s didn’t seem to do a good job of cleaning up after they cooked.

So here’s the story of how I talked her into letting my paint the cabinets.

For our anniversary, all Kim wanted was a gallon of paint for the hall bathroom. So, we go to Home Depot and buy a gallon of a yellow/orange paint. We get home and she starts painting the bathroom.

Well, wouldn’t you know it, the paint wasn’t exactly what she wanted. She wants a more burnt orange color, so back to Home Depot we go.

The paint guy is real nice and starts to throw different tints into the can and give it a good shake, and then we’d see what it looked like. It’s very hard to add color to paint and get exactly what you are looking for.

He mixed and shook, mixed and shook and did this some more until he ended up with what could best be described as “Poo-Poo Brown.” There is no room in my house for that color, so I asked the guy to just throw a bunch of green in and let’s see what the fates decide.
